Castaway Holiday Apartments

Our stay at Castaway Apartments was divine. We had a three-bed apartment, with one bathroom but very spacious with a separate toilet which is handy. The apartment was beautiful and very clean, the kitchenette was very clean and spacious, and the oven was just like mine which made me feel right at home. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable, it was very quiet and parking right outside your door. There is a washing machine and dryer on site which is very handy, and the husband-and-wife hosts were very friendly and helpful, the apartment is just around the corner from the local IGA and up the hill from the main town. The perfect place to stay in Strahan, Eagerly, looking forward to a return visit.

I stayed at Castaway with my family in December 2023. I was really impressed with the professionalism of the managers, the location, and the immaculate rooms. These apartments are located in the best part of Strahan and all the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. Highly recommended. We will be back.

The owners were incredibly helpful, offering local insights that enhanced our visit. The location was perfect, providing easy access to Strahan's attractions with a 2-minute walk to the esplanade. Overall, a superb blend of cleanliness, attentive service, and an ideal location made our holiday truly memorable. Highly recommended!

We only stayed overnight but we would stay here again to explore the area. Pull up outside the door and step into a two bedroom immaculate apartment that has everything you need for a comfy stay. Its really quiet and the kitchen and main bedroom overlooked an empty field next door - how good was that? There is a full kitchen and we loved the IGA down around the corner which had great meal options for dinner. this is a solid choice.

Excellent facilities. Great Shower with separate toilet. beds very comfortable. Reasonably priced. Location excellent. Ideal for families and anyone wanting to cook their own meals. Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Castaway. Owners very friendly and helpful.

I really nice place to stay. Very roomy. Extremely clean. The hosts were delightful. We thought that the small wall heater in the room would not be adequate for the freezing Tasmanian weather but we were wrong. Made the room very snuggly and cosy. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, well appointed unit with charming decor. Really appreciate the standard of cleanliness. Great location. Close to major amenities. Efficient check in/out CoVid safe procedures. No air con but fan available in room but to be fair it’s rare for it to reach 30 degrees Celsius in this area which was what we experienced. Would recommend for anyone looking for short stop over in astrakhan, you won’t be disappointed.

Very comfortable accommodation. Cooking in room and barbecuing ammenities provided, although no basics provided. There is a supermarket literally around the corner. It’s a quick and easy walk down to the waterfront but would be problematic walking home if uphill walking was an issue. Wifi is good. I would thoroughly recommend Castaways.

Lovely, clean apartment within walking distance to the centre of Strahan. Comfortable beds, clean kitchen and bathroom. Excellent wifi, close to supermarket and close to the where the cruises leave Loved watching the birdlife outside.
