Skiathos Princess

We’ve stayed at the Princess previously so we couldn’t wait to go back for lunch at the beach restaurant, however we were very disappointed:( Not very friendly staff, €62 for 2 club sandwiches, salad, a warm rose wine and a can of Mythos is a-bit steep! I’m more than happy paying for lovely food in a fantastic setting but this was below average. I spoke to a few people staying in the area and they said the same.. one couple walked out. It might have been an off day but we didn’t go back.

We stayed here for our last night of honeymoon after staying at their sister hotel Marpunta on the island of Alonissos. We stayed in a premium room with private pool which was beautiful and decorated very tastefully . The hotel manager left us a lovely note with a bottle of wine in our room which I thought was a lovely touch !!! Beach area was excellent and so was the beach bar / restaurant that had amazing food and drinks Breakfast in the morning was excellent and had fabulous choice of everything that would suit all tastes . We particularly loved the fresh omelette station . Staff were very attentive and friendly . Beach beds were fabulous and comfortable and beach towels provided. There is a pool area which we didn’t use because we had our own . Only one negative: Check in staff were very young and need to improve people skills as I tried to strike up a conversation and they were blunt and quite cold natured which is unusual for Greek hospitality . Overall great stay and would return

Fourth visit. Booked on leaving last year direct with the hotel. Flights cancelled due to the storm 5/6 September contacted hotel who changed our booking free of charge to one week later. Great place

Just before leaving the UK, TUI informed us that due to Storm Daniel they could not accommodate us in the hotel of our choice and were moving us to The Skiathos Princess. We were a little concerned about the change but we had nothing to worry about The Skiathos Princess was brilliant. The staff we met throughout the Hotel were all friendly, approachable and helpful. From the reception staff and porters. All the staff in the restaurants serving and making our food. The cleaners and maintenance staff we passed were all very friendly and greeted us with a smile and hello. A great credit to your Hotel. We found the food was delicious and very tasty, plenty for us to choose from. Every day we went for a swim in the sea and found the beach very clean with free sunbeds. A lovely place to relax. The Skiathos Princess is about half way across the island so it roughly equal distance (2euro) from Skiathos Town and (2euro) to Koukounaries. We have had an absolutely brilliant holiday Thank you Skiathos Princess.

Stunning hotel! Clean rooms, delicious breakfast, amazing Staff and service is fantastic! Could not fault this hotel! Everything was perfect. Thank you all for going above and beyond to make our stay amazing!!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. Staff were very helpful and very kind. Very nice breakfast, rooms were very clean. Facilities were great, would highly recommend it. We will definitely be back here.

We are currently staying here and many of the recent reviews reflect our experience. It is not a five star hotel and to be fair. JET2 rate it at four. On the positive side, it is a great location and the cleanliness of the room is pretty good but the table on the balcony and the tea tray are never wiped. On the negative side, there seams to be no organisation in the restaurant. At breakfast you generally have to ask for tea or coffee, rather than being asked. The buffet food is often luke-warm at best. Staff at the resort are polite and efficient but seldom friendly. There is a lack of attention to detail to maintaining the pool area. There is grass growing through the decked area and between the paving slabs. Bird droppings at the side of the pool have been there for the duration of our stay. Food and drink is expensive and the local bars and restaurants are better and cheaper. Managers strut about oblivious of guests and never engage with them. I think they are living on past reputations and have much to improve, particularly from a Service perspective.

Beautiful place! Mosquitoes arrived in full force at about 7 pm so the pool bar waitress served us dinner and drinks in the indoor lounge area. So lovely!

Arrived assuming this was a five star resort. It certainly is not. Others review stating excellent service etc it is not. Orders at breakfast for decaf coffee can be watched with amusement as when said coffee is ready for delivery staff seem to have no idea who it’s for. A simple table number would assist I believe. But the worst part is the food we were half board but went twice in the first week and have vowed not to try again in our second week. Food is very mediocre hardly tepid lacks any imagination for a supposed five star hotel. Admittedly it’s the end of the season but that doesn’t mean our food or service should be less than at the beginning of the season. First night eating we were told to go to Ammos beach bar a menu was presented and starter main chosen. They took drink orders and then forgot what we ordered then reordered to be presented with totally wrong drink chaotic service. Starters arrived which included two mezzo and courgettes starter so three starters for two people. The staff said no not yours took one mezzo away to be observed wondering around restaurant trying to find a home for said mezzo. Half way through starters one main course arrived, we never got to see the second main course at all. We gave up and were mildly amused as it was like Basil Fawlty. Hoped next meal would be better they have now switched us to main restaurant with very poor mediocre meals all tepid and with same waiter service. It’s a buffet all they have to do is bring drinks, however calamity continues with what I assume is the head waiter wondering around asking other staff where the drinks he has are for. Seriously table numbers would help. We have decided not to eat in the evening any more as the local restaurants close by are very good. I do feel aggrieved that I have paid extra for nothing of value. It was never our intention to eat every night but other reviews suggested food etc was fantastic, it isn’t. It’s their end of season hopefully next year they will try harder as it’s a lovely venue great beach just not five star. By the way the recent flood has no bearing on my points as the island has done a remarkable job of recovering well done.
