Marriott's Frenchman's Cove

We had an excellent time during our trip. It was just my husband and I for some relaxation. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was outstanding with amazing views. The only drawback is the isolation. You need a taxi to go everywhere, which ran us an average $15 - $18 a person each way. We used to be able to walk to the Hilton, but it's blocked due to construction. Marriott has a free shuttle to the Hilton and Buoy Haus. The marketplace groceries are extremely expensive, but the resort restaurant was reasonably priced (for a resort). The restaurant food is very good and came out hot. FYI...wait for happy hour 1/2 price to get your drinks, they are normally $15. They have a small beach which is very nice. Town shops are nice but not everyone is open unless there's a cruise ship in. We took the water taxi into town, which is $10 a person each way from the resort. We heard St John's is a great experience, but we were there just to relax.

We stayed here 12/20-12/24…family of 4 with 2 teenage boys in a 2 bedroom. We loved that the boys had their own bedroom and own beds. Room was great with amazing view. It was not crowded and we were always able to get chairs at both pool and beach. Sunset Grille is definitely on “island time”…slow service but we weren’t in any rush. The drinks are good but expensive…everything is $$$$. There’s 3 cats who hang around that we loved! So friendly and cute. The 2 boy cats are not neutered…wish the resort would spay/neuter the cats. Overall we had a very nice time. For nicer dinners you’ll need to go off resort. There is a walkway over to the Westin next door which is very nice.

Have been going her for 10 years, always a good experience, booking excursions, pool can get crowded, but Im a beach person, the food is always good, staff always helpful, view is great, close to downtown for shopping, can go by water taxi or land taxi, water is nicer and quicker, the service goes all day to and from downtown St. Thomas - love it! Great yoga classes!

If you are not part of the timeshare culture here you will get a condo in the back building furthest from the pool and beach. which requires 3 separate elevators to make it to the pool and beach. Service was mediocre at best with food service taking an especially long time for simple dishes like a hamburger and fries. Staff was helpful and Friendly but I found this island is lacking charm and warmth as most of the locals are irritated by tourist. Their bad attitude shows when you need anything or go shopping. We took our car on the Ferry to Saint John which had a much better vibe but still not 100% good with tourist. USVL=Attitudes ! I would recommend many other Caribbean locations as opposed to Saint Thomas. Always check trip advisor. This location does NOT carry a 5 star rating.. I wonder why ? You want to be Happy on Vacation, Not Feel like you are a bother to folks.

We have been Marriott owners for over 30 years and believe the Marriott Frenchman’s Cove is one of the best! Employees are very friendly and helpful, location and view is outstanding, and St Thomas is one of the best locations in the Caribbean. Only suggestion I would offer is ask at the front desk what dinner specials they have and when as we were not made aware of those and would have chosen at least one if we had known.

As you see info and reviews this is a Marriot Vacation Club (timeshare) with 2 and a handful of 3 BR condos. The resort is smaller than most vacation club or larger resorts but it not too small or not too big. It would be great for a family stay, couples or just a quiet vacation. We are owners here and happy to see the property keeps up on things and still looks great and regular maintenance and replacements. We always enjoy our stay as do our friends that we often invite. Already booked for next year!

We stayed for 6 nights and had a 2 bedroom unit in building 5 on the 3rd floor. The views of the harbor out the windows and balcony were absolutely stunning!!! The room was very clean and newly renovated. The bed was very comfy and we all slept well. They provided us with plenty of towels. Housekeeping cleaned our room nicely the middle day of our stay. My takeaways: The Marriott is built into a cliff and to get down to the beach you have to take 3 elevators. All of it is handicapped accessible and easy for the older guests to get to the pool and beach. Reminds me of Europe except here you have elevators and ramps rather than 400 steps. The employees are all nice, just remember you are on island time here and all the workers are from St Thomas and used to taking their time. So expect service to be slow. This is how the Island is. It takes a few days to get used to this. Walk over to the Westin next door to eat at Luna Mar. The view is incredible!!! There is a free shuttle but I couldn’t figure out the schedule and was told it’s coming soon… so just walked over. We spent the entire 6 day stay on campus at the Marriott and next-door Westin. Take the snorkeling and sunset dinner cruise on VI Cat sailboat from the Marriott pier. The beach is nice and there is a restaurant at the pool where we ate most of the time. The resort is very safe and secure. The guests the week we stayed were older people and families with kids. We all enjoyed our stay and will return again.

We are we timeshare owners and usually go to Aruba, as we own there. We decided to go somewhere different and we both really enjoyed the resort and St. Thomas. Wonderful staff, always had pool or beach chairs available, and with or without shade. Staff was helpful, and enjoyed the restaurant & the marketplace. They also have a cute boat shuttle to take you to Charlotte Amelie.

I'm here with my husband, son and his wife in a 2 BR villa. The Villa is great and very comfortable for our family size. It's been nice having a washer and dryer and full kitchen. We ordered delivery from Moe's before we arrived and have been able to eat breakfast and lunch from the room. I was disappointed at first we weren't in the Tortola Building but I've been loving our central balcony in the Virgin Gorda building. This resort is smaller that most vacation clubs so noise isn't an issue. The staff has been great and accommodating.
