A Garden Suite B&B

On the day I was due to book in, the host messaged me to confirm arrival time and to inform me of the option available for breakfast. I was met on my arrival by the management team who had upgraded my accommodation. The room was easily accessible and would suit guests with limited mobility. A lovely room with microwave, fridge and basic cutlery etc. enabling self catering for evening meal. The room was clean and neat with comfortable beds and an air conditioner. Which, although I did not need, would be a welcome addition in the cold or hot/humid conditions the town has. I was supplied with a remote that allowed me to come and go with ease. South Africa is subjected to State controlled electricity cuts, and the BnB is able to circumvent these black-outs by running a generator. This being said, neighborhood pressure does limit the running of the generator past 22H00. A limited range of TV channels is available, which ought to be extended in my opinion. The shower provided hot water and a bar of soap, but no shampoo. This i think is an oversight. My breakfast on both mornings, Bacon, eggs, toast and grilled tomatoes, washed down by superb coffee was better than expected and was expertly prepared and presented. A genuine interest in my occupation (bee keeping) was shown by management, which, as you can imagine, gave me the opportunity to "shop", something I never tire of. A great venue and should I find myself in the same neck of the woods again, I would definitely stay here again. It also provides a great base from which to explore the Natal Midlands, which is a cultural and eclectic mix of farming and creative venues from art to Zulu immersions and everything in between.
