Very bad experience. The food of the Taverna was good and our bill was supposed to be 33.50€ for a mixed grill (23.50€) and two glasses of wine (10€). But for our surprise when the bill came it was actually 49.50€. We kindly asked the manager why we got charged 16€ more for something that said “FOOD” in the bill and he said it was for the salad we ate. I asked him why it didn’t say “SALAD” in the bill instead of “FOOD” and he said it’s just not in the system. Anyway the mixed grill we ordered already came with sauce, bread and salad so we told him we didn’t order an extra salad, so he proceeded to start making up stories about how I personally ordered a bigger salad when he supposedly told me the one included in the mixed grill was small (which they never served us by the way), but this conversation never happened as my partner made the order as he speaks Greek and I don’t. He was having a discussion about the bill with my partner in Greek and when I tried to talk to him and explain that I didn’t order this salad he proceeded to cut me off and say “We’re talking in Greek” and didn’t let me speak. He insisted we had to pay for what we ate and obviously this was not the issue, we were ready to pay this scam but we wanted to know what exactly we were paying. Even if it was true and he gave us a bigger salad (just because he wanted) isn’t 16€ too much for a basic greek salad? Well, who knows. Avoid this place or be very careful with this man if you go.

What a lovely family run hotel . Traditional and friendly. Room small but very clean and air con worked well . Bathroom spotless . Hotel is old so a bit scruffy but full of character . Great breakfast with good choice of local ingredients . Restaurant a highlight , great food and wine . Staff very friendly and helpful . George , the owner , very welcoming and we were sorry we only stayed for two nights . Highly recommend .

I booked, via eDreams, a standard double room at this hotel for 2 nights as a thank-you gift for a family member. I liked the pictures on Kiniras website and the many positive reviews, and I looked forward to checking in. When we arrived, it was a shock. Instead of getting a airy "standard double room" with 2 beds and a balcony as per the photos on Kiniras website, we got a very tiny room with only one bed, no balcony (just a small window on a refuse/storage area), very dim with no real natural light, no working toilet (flushing was only possible after "pumping" with the cistern handle), musty smell, damp stains on the bathroom ceiling, and not enough floor space to even open a cabin luggage. When we sat on the matrass, it felt so uncomfortable. I could not even imagine laying an entire night on it. I was ashamed to bring my niece there. I immediately reported to the staff downstairs to say that this was not what I booked. An uncooperative lady told me to contact the owner myself. I had to insist *she* phones him, and not me. Over the phone, the owner said no change was possible. He kept asking what our nationalities were. He asked at least three times. I failed to see the relevance of this. After waiting more than an hour for the owner to show up, it was clear we would never get the advertised room or something vaguely equivalent. As we only stayed 2 nights in Paphos, we did not want to waste any further time on this. So, we handed back the keys and found another hotel nearby. The hotel refuses to refund me. I fail to understand how this can be a 3-star hotel. Perhaps a couple of rooms are indeed like on the pictures of the website, but there are also rooms that are well below the expected standard. I found the staff and owner quite unpleasant. Perhaps the staff is tired of dealing with unhappy customers... When we handed back the keys, the owner was busy dealing with two unhappy French clients.

I was looking forward to this experience but was very disappointed. This is an old hotel at the heart of Paphos, with a traditional feel and design. That makes for a good starting point for a good experience, but reality is different. Rooms are extremely poorly furnished, and whatever renovations were done in a poor manner that basically left rooms with holes and plaster and external piping. The first room we were offered was suffocating small. It has a staircase to the roof, and when we opened that door a lizard ran out! We immediately asked for a different room, and they offered us another which was just as small as we refused it, so were offered a room with triple beds at an extra charge of 30 euros/night which was acceptable with a street view. Lighting is dim across the hotel, really dim! You cannot control the AC in the room, it’s on off only which is useless. Most rooms have 20” TVs, the one we got had a new big screen TV, which only had 8 channels most of which are in Greek! There’s no elevator, and it’s only one flight of stairs, but there’s no one to help you with the luggage. There was no one at the reception when we got there. We had to look for one to check us in. There doesn’t seem to be any sufficient staffing. And this lack of staff and service people continues to all areas. There’s no water bottles in the room, but there’s a water cooler in the corridor where you can fill up. Breakfast is something you can do without here. It’s repetitive and lacking, and mostly cold. If anything runs out, there’s no one to replenish it. We had to look for one of the staff to get us bread and they brought it cold from the fridge (not fresh and stale). Bedding is cheap, shampoo is bad. Only thing good about the hotel is location. It’s a shame as it has the potential to offer a seriously different experience.

A wonderful, traditional hotel in an excellent position of the old town. George the owner is a wonderful character. Super helpful re local places to go. The staff were always polite and helpful to. The evening meals are authentic and tasty...the dining room is traditionally quaint. Breakfast has a good range of food...only one thing. if a coffee lover..as we are... there are some good local cafes.

A genuine taste of Cypriot hospitality and cuisine. A small family hotel in a lovely old building in the old town, full of character and oozing charm. George and his friendly staff were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was delightful and had a balcony overlooking Makarios avenue. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable and our room spacious. Breakfast was amazing, all you could desire - the usual cereals, continental, Greek yoghurt & fresh fruit, hot bacon, sausages eggs etc. but also every morning a different selection of Cypriot dishes freshly prepared and newly baked bread. We dined in the restaurant twice (and would have eaten there more often if we hadn't already made other bookings elsewhere) - traditional Cypriot fare prepared perfectly (the Chicken a la Trodos was fantastic), and a fine selection of local wines. We enjoyed our stay so much we stayed an extra two nights.

Good location and a very traditional Hotel. Our room was very small but looked out onto the enclosed garden which made up for it slightly. With it being the winter season, most of the rooms were being re-decorated which did not impact on our stay.A little concerned by exposed wiring in the bath room and the Towels which should have been replaced in 2020. Breakfast was average but we did have a nice evening meal one night.
