Myself and partner went with our 1 year old daughter to Ardaniaseig hotel for a treat for her birthday, via a good 5pm deal. First of all, they were excellent when changing the dates the day we were supposed to arrive, due to my daughter's ill health. We change to the following week, and weather aside, were delighted to stay. It is a beautiful old style hotel that screams haunted mansion. They really seem to embrace this vibe, as even the mens bathroom is the same eerie colours as the one from the Shining (along with a portrait of twins outside it...). I loved this vibe, there's portraits everywhere. We had dinner the first night which was beautiful. The portions could maybe be slightly bigger however the taste was sublime and we both noted there was no extra saltiness or antyhing that you get in some hotels. A word for the staff, they were so lovely to us and our daughter when we stayed. They made a big deal out of her and were so helpful for places to go and see nearby, including recommending the bar down the road for our second nights dinner. The room was beautiful and as others have said, has its quirks in a really good way. One thing I would say is they could do with some brighter lights from the car park to the main reception. I loved the roaring fires they had on and it was a perfect escape for people wanting a weekend in a remote part of Scotland, away from the city.
