Whilst the location is fantastic and they have a great pool, the rooms seem not to have been touched since 1948! I think the original furniture is still in the room. One of the windows in our room did not go all the way to the top of the frame. It is an expansive resort and has some good public spaces, but our experience with our room was not great. The air conditioning did not work for our first night and it took 4 goes for the staff (in the end, the engineers had to fix it) and when it was fixed, it blew on the highest level and we could not turn it down - and we were very cold on our second night. Also, every Sunday down the beach, some bar holds a disco till about 12.45am - the noise of which carried stratight to the resort and made sleeping a tad challenging. The music they play at the resort during dinner is also quite loud. Food was ok - nice selection of Sri Lankan and western food. I would not stay here again.

Sitio increíble delante de la playa. Estuvimos solos en todo momento durante nuestra estancia y se preocuparon para que fuera una estancia perfecta. Habitación con todo lo necesario. En la piscina nos trajeron un cóctel de bienvenida riquísimo. Fuimos a pasear por la playa, delante del hotel hay un columpio. Te prestan una madera para poder hacerte fotos con el atardecer. La cena fue espectacular. Nos preparon una mesa ante la playa, con velas y pétalos. Comida buenísima. Especial mención a Pramodya, muy atento en todo momento. Recomendable 100%.

El hotel más caro y mejor de este viaje, la marca Roland Chateau realmente merece su reputación. En una colina de Villigmo, rodeada de montañas y ríos, el entorno no tiene absolutamente nada que decir. Las habitaciones también son muy grandes y la entrada es compartida por 4 habitaciones. La piscina es ligeramente diferente a la de la villa con piscina unifamiliar. Por la noche, usé una cena de 6 platos en el restaurante. Fue cocido y comido. Solo éramos cuatro, lo que equivalía a un restaurante privado. El chef de Roland Chateau realmente merece su reputación y es digno de 350 estrellas Michelin. Estrellas, el ambiente del desayuno también es de primera categoría, lo que quiero quejarme es el precio, el precio de casi 8,000 yuanes es realmente alto

We stayed for 2 nights and wished we stayed longer! Room was spacious and clean with an amazing view on the high floor. We had dinner buffet at Weligama Kitchen and food was great! Breakfast served there was delicious with great variety from Western , Asian, Indian but the Sri Lankan style breakfast was the best! Tide Bar is a great place to relax and have drinks with scrumptious snack too. We spent most of our time at the resort and it was very relaxing. The environment was suitable for couples and family at the same time. Lastly, service was top notch, everyone was friendly and helpful. TK and Kalpani from Weligama kitchen always checking on us, Sachinthaka , Asanka and Dharmika from Tides always cheerful and greeting us when we head there for drinks. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends visiting beautiful Sri Lanka!

Superb very clean well maintained hotel. Staff is very friendly. Mouthwatering food. beach is very clean and all stakeholders including all other hotels and surf schools are taking care of it. One can surf either side of the hotel beaches. Very safe and well maintained swimming pool add more glamor. Anyhow prices are very unreasonable. A water bottle cost me Rs 650 and the same brand of it , within 100 meters from hotel was only Rs 120. For our first lunch cost us Rs 33,000+ as they refused to add that to FB saying it starts from Dinner!! but since we had one dinner out side and skipped the lunch the day we departed, altered bill from full board to HF , reduction was only 4000+/day. This is absurd and we have never experience such in any other place. Such pricing may get them quick returns but ruined their reputation much quicker. So plan your budget so that you don't have any regret of extras.

Central Beach Inn has a bunch of different room types at different price points. We stayed in the deluxe balcony with AC. Overall the room was ok and a decent size. My friend had issues with the bathroom door since it is very short and he is 6’1” (he hit his head several times). The room has a sort of colonial romantic feel with dark wood furniture and a four-poster bed with white mosquito netting. Standard amenities – WiFi, safe, small fridge, overhead fan, mini bar (electric kettle and coffee/tea), and toiletries. The steps to the balcony were very steep with a higher than normal rise and were shared with one other unit. A basin with water was on the landing for the stairs so that you could wash off sand from your feet. A gate was at base of the stairs. Breakfast was not included, and we did not eat at the restaurant. We did not have the room serviced while there by choice, but I think you have to ask if you want it cleaned. Comparison time: We stayed at two places in Mirissa Beach – Central Beach and Dream Palace. The two hotels are back-to-back with Central taking the beachfront and Dream Palace taking the street front. They both have their pros and cons. The rooms were significantly nicer and cleaner at Dream Palace, but I liked mattress better at Central as it was a little less hard. Both places had the same room amenities. You hear the music from the beach nightclubs at Central whereas you get the early morning beeping and bread-tuk tuk music from the street at Dream Palace (although the rear rooms are much quieter). Central is beach front and Dream Palace means that you walk through another hotel, for which the gates may all be locked after 1:00 am (be warned!). You will have to climb stairs at Dream Palace, but you can get a ground level room at Central. The service was significantly better and much more friendly at Dream Palace (family run) compared to the more business feel of Central. Central has a full restaurant and Dream Palace does not. The WiFi was somewhat stronger at Central and allowed for internet phone calls. Dream Palace is more budget friendly since it is not beachfront. As for Mirissa Beach itself, the beach is beautiful! The waves are very large and consistently frequent which means they may not be good for children or those who do not like to get batted around by waves. However, there is an area at the end of the beach by Parrot Rock with very gentle small waves that is good for kids. The beach is very busy all of the time and people come here for the nightlife. At least one restaurant a night turns into a club with a dj (until 3 or 4 am). At one end of the beach, they will put out these lit up frames that kind of look like giant eggbeaters out front of the bar that will be the club that night. They also have live music earlier in the evening at some of the other places. Mirissa Beach is a good central location on the south shore to make quick trips to Weligama (surfing) and Matara (city), and longer trips to Unawatuna

El hotel más caro y mejor de este viaje, la marca Roland Chateau realmente merece su reputación. En una colina de Villigmo, rodeada de montañas y ríos, el entorno no tiene absolutamente nada que decir. Las habitaciones también son muy grandes y la entrada es compartida por 4 habitaciones. La piscina es ligeramente diferente a la de la villa con piscina unifamiliar. Por la noche, usé una cena de 6 platos en el restaurante. Fue cocido y comido. Solo éramos cuatro, lo que equivalía a un restaurante privado. El chef de Roland Chateau realmente merece su reputación y es digno de 350 estrellas Michelin. Estrellas, el ambiente del desayuno también es de primera categoría, lo que quiero quejarme es el precio, el precio de casi 8,000 yuanes es realmente alto

Peacock Villa is the most charming bnb I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. The owners see to all the most thoughtful touches: bikes for guests’ use; games, books, and a piano in the lobby; a map highlighting the routes to the beach; bug spray, medicine, and other essentials available… the list goes on. Breakfast was incredible, and their iced coffee was the best I’ve ever tried. I was only in Mirissa for one night but they let me check out late so I could make the most of my day at the beach. The father-son owners were so kind and gave great recommendations for swimming in Turtle Bay and surf lessons at Surf’n Lanka in Weligama. I only wish I could have stayed longer! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a home away from home in Mirissa 🦚❤️ PS Every other service provider in Sri Lanka has asked me to review them, but Peacock Villa didn’t need to. Their service speaks for itself.

El hotel es muy cómodo, el confort le trae un pequeño número de habitaciones (solo 12), verde en el territorio, una piscina bastante espaciosa con una pequeña zona de jacuzzi.
