I spent an incredible 3 nights at the Rhino Plains Camp and thoroughly enjoyed every minute - - the staff made the experience very special- James the guide and Orens the tracker are passionate about the bush and highly professional in all aspects of the bush walking experience. They made the bush come alive with their detailed knowledge of the flora and fauna and I was excited to be tracking elephants, buffalo and rhino confident that I was in safe hands. The drives to and from the chosen bush walking location were always fun and rewarding with animal sightings at every turn- the night drives in particular provided amazing sightings- such as coming across a herd of over 100 buffalos and a group hyenas on the road. The meals at the camp were delicious and of a fine dining standard - I already miss the freshly baked bread and muffins and the fresh omelette at brunch prepared by the friendly team at the camp. The accommodation is in a luxury tents that is very comfortable and functional- it is hard to believe you are in a remote bush camp. The standout for me was the last night sleeping out under the stars-- it was more like a tree house experience with comfortable bedding and a tasty BBQ/braai dinner in a beautiful setting overlooking a river bed. Anyone of average fitness can do the walks as they are not a forced march but rather a tailored meander through the bush. Overall a faultless experience , although I am sure first time visitors would benefit from a dedicated check in for the plains camp rather than being checked in by the safari lodge.

We have been to Plains Camp three times and every time we enjoy it more. A wonderful place to recharge. Love that there is no Wifi at Plains Camp, don't change that in a world where there is internet overload everywhere. Our four young adults loved it!

We just loved this place we had 3 nights and enjoyed everything Walks were great with very informative guides minimal animals but still loved it we did see hippo giraffe zebra buffaloes plus plenty of evidence of others. From the lodge we sat and watch ostrich impala and lots of birds The rooms were clean and tidy the setting was unique and quaint loved it The afternoon sundowner drive tour was fantastic 4 hours of seeing everything from a leopard kill to lions with cubs We will definitely do this again on a return trip to South Africa We cannot thank the staff enough for a memorable trip The sleep out was closed but it wasn’t missed as we had opportunities to do so much more Thank you again for a holiday if a life time😁

Come here for a traditional camp experience in a gorgeous setting. Only a few tents and lovely dining area with terrific food. The morning game walks are great! Wear quick dry pants, wool socks and light hikers - you will get wet tromping through streams and dewy grasses. Afternoon game drives and sundowners - it's the best combo experience

Staff at Rhino Walking Safari 'Plains Camp' were excellent - Darryl (guide), Albino (tracker), William (chef), Trinity (many things). They give you a great chance to walk in comfort. The food was really terrific and rather impressive in a small four tented place. The Darryl/Albino mix were excellent - Darryl was informed and enthusiastic throughout our 5 day stay. Lots of knowledge on animals - including birds. The walk in the morning and then another walk and/or drive in the evening worked well. We were very very unlucky in that we had unseasonal rain during our visit but that was not a fault of the camp or the staff. We nonetheless saw great game and had a good time. There are 4 tents in all - and we had 3 of them - with delightful other couples joining in the other tent. Do not get confused with Post camp that does NOT do walking... If I was pushed to ask for areas for improvement I would mention that the camp is a touch 'tired' with some fixtures and fittings maybe - things are a touch frayed on occasion. Overall highly recommended.

Rhino Plains is my favorite camp in the KNP by far - it is a comfortable and intimate tented camp with a beautiful vista overlooking a water hole which attracts numerous animals. It has a tangible atmosphere of relaxation and being totally at one with nature. Our guide and host, Darryl, is an enthusiastic and affable young man with an incredible amount of knowledge about the bush. The morning bush walks were outstanding, and guided by Darryl with the support of Albino, we were able to see/track a large number of animals, insects and birds whilst feeling safe at all times. In the late afternoon, a game drive with a walk and sundowners is on offer - perfect combination. All the other camp staff (Precious, William and Victoria) are just lovely - down to earth and attentive. The food was really good and communal meals were convivial with much laughter and bantering. We stayed for two nights but I was not ready to leave - recommend at least three nights! Can’t wait for an opportunity to revisit!

This is my favourite camp of all I've ever stayed at in Botswana, Zim and SA. I like its cosy size of just four tents, and the staff who are real, genuinely kind and well informed. Darryl is an energetic, authentic and likeable soul who has a full-on role as camp manager, meal host, and guide. He and Albino led our group ably on morning and evening walks, satisfying the needs of all whether their interest was birds, spiders, trees or "a bit of everything". Rhino Plains is a great place for a gathering of family or friends -and I'd suggest 3 nights rather than the 2 I did. It's that special a camp for walking, drives, and relaxation.

We did safari rides as well as safari walking trip… and it’s worth saying that I’d recommend doing both. In a vehicle you see more animals and can get closer. Safari walking tours, you are following guides as they track and are more enveloped in the environment. Personally if I had to choose one, I’d say do the walking. Your feel more a part of nature rather than an observer. Rooms/tents here were great, all staff was great and I was very comfortable. The food was delicious.
