First off, the door had no gasketing and was open to an outside walkway, because of the age, it was sagging and there was a wide open gap where light and sound traveled. Not energy efficient for such a hot area of the country.
Secondly there was absolutely no decor on the walls. No pictures, no color, nothing.
The floor was done in a particle wood substitute for planking - and was seperated with large gaps between the planks.
The light switch covers were filthy, looks like they had not been wiped down in over a year.
I tried to use the power outlet outside that was marked for "boat charging" for my plug in hybrid, but it did not work. parking was limited for as many rooms as they had. They put most of the guests on the view side where you could see the water, which meant that side the parking filled up.
The lobby had plexiglass for security, made me feel it was not the safest area, even though the rest of the city and hotels were just fine. I found it tacky and uninviting. The manager was friendly, but then hawked the city guides that were basically just advertizing brochures - there were two of them. I figured he was getting a kickback for prominently displaying them and giving them to each guest.
The swimming pool was small, and shaded most of the morning from the adjacent building. I chose not to swim.
on the plus side, it was close to the State Park and the music festival I attended, and I would highly recommend Sams Place just down the street for breakfast.
