Top Quality Guest house Has everything you would need. Rooms are Clean Tidy and much larger than i expected if your looking for That view Book the Tower room. The Guest house is Very close to the beach front a couple of minutes walk would book here first if i was to come back to Maderia

Friendly atmosphere, fantastic place near city center, clean and comfortable rooms, helpfull and lovely stuff. There is a beautiful garden next to the house for guests to rest or have a cup of coffee. The guesthouse overlooks the ocean.

The VC guesthouse is in a great location on the seafront in old Funchal. This is good clean, basic accommodation. An old house converted into guest house, with each room being different. I stayed in the Victoria room which has a big, quiet balcony that is perfect for having drinks and sunbathing. There is a lush, secluded garden. There is a cafe very close by that serves great snacks and good cocktails. They also host bands outside, in the evening at the weekends so if you are averse to noise, don't get a room at the front. Unexpectedly nice breakfasts served by Fabiano, who couldn't be more helpful and welcoming.

This was our third trip to Funchal, always staying in Grandfathers of this old house. Spacious, loads of storage and with its own shower room, the best part is the view over the old fort towards the harbour. Magnificent sunrises and sunsets. Great value, we made use of the garden and the seating area on the upper landing. Very clean. Breakfast is a great sociable time and a chance to share information about walks and busses with other guests. Use of the kitchen is a bonus, although thankfully there are plenty of local restaurants only too pleased to see tourists during the pandemic. All busses and attractions were open as usual, very covid aware, free testing available along the marina. Fabien was extremely friendly and helpful, this year our trip didnt coincide with Graces visit, but maybe next years will. There is a little noise from the lane outside, but it is quiet through most of the night. Book a room at the rear if noise bothers you - they have a nice view of Funchal spreading up the mountain.

don't sleep on this spot. it is the ideal place to stay when visiting funchal. the staff is SO friendly and helpful - also super responsive via whatsapp. the house and rooms are huge and there is a communal kitchen if you want to do any cooking of your own. located right on the edge of old town (everything you need) and also just a few steps from views of the ocean. some things to note; as others have mentioned, if you are traveling with anyone you are not comfortable hearing you take a dump, then the Triple Room with Private Bathroom is not for you. there are 12 foot high ceilings but the bathroom is like an open-topped box about 8 feet high so ppl can hear EVERYTHING i went at the end of sep 2022 so it was right between busy and slow season. i imagine during high season, the large house could get pretty loud with it being old and spacious and tons of ppl going up and down stairs. when i went it was perfect tips: there's no need to arrange a private ride. just grab a taxi from the line outside the airport. approx 30-35euros depending on traffic. try the bolt app as well

Just got back from a wonderful stay here. The guesthouse occupies a 19th-century building with wrought-iron balconies, and in a way, a stay is like stepping back in time to an era of friendly, pension-style accommodation. The building is full of paintings, antiques and so on, and has a lovely shady garden at the back. The rooms are simple, but very comfortable, with contemporary comforts such as air-con, wifi and modern bathrooms. We had two rooms at the front, which came with sea views from the balcony. The location is right in the Zona Velha (the old town), away from most of the big hotels, with the main restaurant street is just steps away. There's also a miradouro with spectacular city and sea views directly opposite, as well as a cool bar/cafe with a terrace. But perhaps best of all are the hosts – friendly, funny, helpful and knowledgable (but not in any way overbearing). The communal breakfast was a delight every morning! I can't recommend Vitorina Corte highly enough!
