The resort is just a short walk or a couple of minutes on the land train from the ferry. There is a large reception area with details of the resort, the island, what one may do in the way of excursions and wildlife one might see. I stayed in the hotel but there are apartments leading up the incline from reception (I have no knowledge of these). The rooms are 'rustic' style with wooden stairs and passageways on two floors. They are large and comfortable with balconies facing the wetlands and countryside. Room maintenance is not everyday so be prepared to make your own bed. There are boardwalks from the rooms, pool etc around the resort and into natural areas. There are several restaurants in the resort and it is a question of what you fancy on the day (and how much you want to spend on food). The bar and main restaurant overlook the spacious pool, which never looked particularly busy. The beach and sea are alongside the ferry jetty, so not far. The resort including beach is dingo proof fenced. There is an onsite shop selling groceries etc. and a small museum. The resort organised excursions are a must if one wants full enjoyment of the island and the guides are knowledgeable, fun and make for a great experience. One can hire a car but there are no made-up roads once one gets out into the island. One can have a quiet away from it all break with added 'adventures' at the K'gari Beach Resort. Children, I believe, will enjoy it there as well as adults.
