King Sound Resort Hotel

I don’t even know where to start. This old run down dump has nothing going for it at all. How the shire even give it the approval to stay open has got me stumped. From its old, unkept rooms that smell like they haven’t been cleaned in years, to the pool where the artificial turf is riddled with holes that appear like they have been eaten by rats…………….. After having to go to the back of the building so we could enter (front part of the ‘Resort” looked abandoned) we kept saying to ourselves it can’t be that bad……….how wrong we were. I am not a fussy person at all but after being given our room key, we entered the room and then turn around and handed it back in. The smell was over powering and the furniture was so outdated it was dangerous. We then drove back to Broome and had to find accomodation. To be honest I would have been happier sleeping in my car, an empty bus shelter or even in the local park. Don’t do it people

My friend and I needed to leave our car at the King Sound Resort as we were doing the overnight house boat tour of Horizontal Falls. Whilst we were on our overnight boat cruise, our car was broken in to. This was due to the fact that the fences surrounding the carpark were as old and crusty as the first dinosaur to roam the earth. We returned from our lovely boat cruise, only to find our car smashed up and all of our belongings on the ground. While we waited for the police to arrive, we had to witness a large, aggressive dispute between the owner of the “resort” and a few locals walking by. Besides all of this, the “resort” alone is an absolute dump. I don’t know how it can even be referred to as a “resort”. God forbid anyone spend a cent to stay there overnight. It’s rusty, old, uninviting and dirty. I would highly recommend people don’t leave their car overnight, unless you want a broken car window & many of your valuables stolen from roaming, opportunists.
