The Watergarden Hotel & Spa

I have stayed here 8 years ago and that was the most amazing place I have stayed in my life. This time things changed, but it’s still a beautiful place. Very tranquil location, the garden is well maintained and looked after. Feels like you are in the middle of the jungle, so expect all kinds of animals all around.. the beds are very comfy and the rooms are clean. Some refurbishment would do wonders though.. It doesn’t seem like they did any work on the rooms in the last 8 years but the restaurant got renovated. So the price of the food got more expensive. We didn’t eat anything here this time as you can find cheaper and really tasty food around the town ( highly recommended Warung Budi Ayu- not just because of the food but the hospitality and kind talks ). Water garden is amazing if you want to experience something special.

Poor initial check in set tone. I was questioned about where had I come from, how did I get there, etc. I’m sure the other reviews are right about how wonderful it is, but too many questions just seemed an unpleasant introduction! This colours the tone of the stay. The room was beautiful, so too the pool and central location. Just make sure, dear management, you make EVERY paying guest feels welcome upon fronting to reception.

Our travel group of 12 had the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous stay at the Watergarden Hotel while enjoying a quilting seminar and retreat on the property as well. The hotel served as our home away from home while we toured in the Candidasa area and also had quilting lessons at the hotel. Our rooms and linens were very comfortable. Filtered water was available to us daily as well as a hot pot so we could have coffee in our room in mugs provided in our hotel room while watching the coi our private coi pond while we slowly began our day. We had hot water every day in a luxurious in room shower. We ate breakfast and lunch in the hotel dining room everyday. Our group ordered this a day ahead and our breakfast and lunch not only was beautiful and delicious was provided piping hot, on time every day. The most delightful thing about this that the staff’s enthusiasm and friendliness was demonstrated continually. After the first day, they all knew my name and the rest of our party of twelves names! I forgot to mention that they also for a nominal fee did a load of laundry for me which was impeccably done, folded and smelled fantastic on the same day I left it with the front desk. All of this superb service attention to detail starts with one key element, an employee named Puta. She introduced herself to our group when we checked in coming to each of our rooms to let us know to contact her if we needed anything. From spa appoin**ent which (I highly recommend you do as many as possible while you are there) as well as addressing any questions we had. She also came and picked up 3 guests who didn’t want to continue activities in Candidasa and took them back to the hotel. She also helped us hire Balinese dancers for our final evening dinner which we had at the hotel that was delicious, intimate and wonderful for our group. Thanks to the entire staff for making our visit to Bali so wonderful! We will be back!

The tranquil surroundings was just what I needed after my cleansing ritual in Ubud & the staff were always ready to help. Manageress Puta saw that my needs were met in every way. Every afternoon around 4 'o clock, she softly made her presence known to ask if everything was ok. Even after a long days ensuring all guests were well taken care of, she still had a smile & kind word. I could see in her eyes the deep pride she felt in her role, and the happiness it brought her to see that everyone who stayed at the hotel felt at peace. No praise could do justice to the gift that was her presence at the Watergarden Hotel. I will definitely be back.

By far one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Room was spacious and clean. Every bungalow has a lovely fish pond with water lilies. Beautiful pool. Excellent restaurant. Relaxing spa. Staff exceptional. Had a lovely 7 night stay with my patchwork group.

Spent 4 nights in the double bed bungalow; comfortable and relaxing, enjoyed great sleeps and a morning cuppa while we watched the koi in their pool every morning from our verandah. An oasis in Candidasa under the supervision of our gracious host, Putu. Bungalows are surrounded by lush vegetation with a paved pathway leading to each. Rooms services daily and cleaned to a high standard. My wife enjoyed the swimming pool and the crystal clear water. Pool cleaned daily. Staff friendly and welcoming everywhere throughout the complex.

A great few days at Watergarden Candidasa. The room was lovely, with a great verandah surrounded by fish ponds filled with koi. The rooms were very private, although noisy at night from the traffic from the road, dogs barking and roosters crowing! All of this was out of control of the hotel! The spa was fabulous!
