The Willcox

We expected an excellent experience based upon friends' comments and the Willcox did not disappoint. The service was superb and our room was luxurious with every possible amenity provided. We ate at the restaurant in the lobby and it was a delicious meal. The hotel and dining are very well staffed and we were attended to promptly. We are only two hours and twenty minutes away, but it felt like we had really taken a vacation instead of just one night. We will be back.

Traveling northward we looked for a new stopping point and a nice property to visit and the Willcox looked to fit the bill. Driving in (and out) of Aiken, the town looks charming with a downtown asking to be explored. Unfortunately, weather and other conditions resulted in us arriving much later than anticipated and we called ahead to inquire of dining options upon arrival. Will post separately on the restaurant but very accommodating and really nice meal was had. I We checked in after dinner and headed to our 2nd floor room king premium room (Room 201). The room was clean, spacious, well appointed and had a working gas fireplace. The bathroom had a large, deep soak tub and separate shower. Housekeeping had included a pitcher of lemon infused water which was enjoyed. The bed was very comfortable. The following morning we enjoyed the dining room again, this time for the complimentary breakfast which provided menu of breakfast options as well as beverages. Enjoyable breakfast. Overall, quite pleased with our brief but very comfortable stay. The staff was very friendly and the facility quite nice l. We would certainly like to return and enjoy all that the Willcox offers and explore Aiken a bit. Nothing but good things experienced at the Willcox and would recommend to family and friends.

in town for the Antiques show. greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival...what's not to like? The room was nicely appointed and very comfortable. The bed was so comfortable, it was hard to leave. Turndown service was unexpected and a nice surprise. A little problem with the TV wands but it didn't matter to us. Look forward to returnimng.

The Willcox (which is also known as Aiken’s living room) is an experience everyone should add to their bucket list. The Hotel is 1st class. The rooms are lovely. The food is exceptional & very reasonable. The pillows were so great that I contacted housekeeping and ordered one to have at home. The lobby and bar are always lively and full of friendly people.

I’ll start with the fact that I absolutely love this hotel and restaurant. The staff is incredible and Matt just makes the experience so wonderful and special. We love coming to see them all. We have been coming for years. We went tonight for my birthday and I was firstly impressed my the menu. The caviar caught my eye as did the Spanish octopus. What inviting new items! I asked the waitress about the new menu and was informed that there is a new chef and lots of specials. Everything was so fabulous. We had the Elk special and it was just phenomenal. I wish I had a picture but we just devoured it so I’ll have to just share the appetizers.

Perfect location for a couples get away. Great options for activities and shopping near by. The spa is very reasonably priced and all staff were wonderful.

Have not ever had a better experience in an American hotel. If you would like to have a once in a lifetime experience, enjoying immense Southern hospitality, this is the place. History & old fashioned grace shall drench you at this establishment.

A very charming and historic southern inn. Excellent restaurant downstairs, especially for breakfast which was included in our stay. The rooms were well sized, lovely antique furnishings throughout, soft and cozy beds. The lobby and bar area were both very inviting after a long day spent on the trails. My only recommendation for improvement would be to update the bathrooms. Ours was in great need of an update, and we would have appreciated a walk-in shower vs. a bathtub.

We spent two nights at the Wilcox, and we would not change a thing. Check in was fast and efficient. We were offered complimentary glasses of sparkling wine which we enjoyed in the lobby while waiting for friends to arrive. The lobby is very relaxing, with comfortable seating and interesting art. We enjoyed reasonably priced cocktails there both nights before dinner. We stayed in Room 210 which is a junior suite. It was spacious, with a large sitting area which was perfect for drinks and conversation with friends after dinner. The rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds, high quality linens, and fluffy towels. Turndown service was a nice touch. We stayed at their sister property, Greystone, so we had an idea what to expect for breakfast. The menu had lots of choices, the coffee was excellent, and the service was courteous and efficient. Parking is very convenient in the angle parking in front of the hotel. The way the spaces are angled and spaced; it would be impossible to get a door ding unless someone was trying. The hotel is a short walk from the main shopping area and The Alley. The only question I had was “Where do they find all the happy, smiling, friendly, eager to please people?” It seemed like every staff member greeted us, and everyone was looking for a way to be helpful.
